ABOUT US

"The Under 27 and Above Club" offers Artists an opportunity to stand up and be recognised. The arts industry is extremely competitive and paid work seems nothing but a distant dream. Fortunately for you, with the birth of this club also comes a light at the end of the tunnel. We aim to help you as an artist get your foot on the ladder and start your own journey in this industry. We offer support financially and in the form of advice and companionship. Too many times artists give up on their hopes and dreams because they can't find a way into the industry. Our sole purpose is to help you get there, by offering you support, filling you with information, introducing you to contacts and much more along the way. We live in a world where you can be paid for doing what you love, don't be the person that passed on the opportunity.

IDENTIFY - DEVELOP - ENJOY

IDENTIFY

Firstly we help the public to identify with you the artist. We do this by creating you your very own page upon this website, where people of the industry can find you. There they will see your interests and hobbies, any images or videos of you in action and finally the important ones, your CV and headshots. To find more out about this simply take a look at one of the members pages that are already set up on this website.

We also talk about you on social media, giving the wider public a glimpse of you in turn growing your following further. Social media has become the worlds quickest and most successful form of advertising and with our help you can become a well-known product or service that the right people are desperate to have a piece of.

You also have the potential to be involved in our monthly issue that will be distributed around the city centre a lot like the likes of "The Skinny", "Bido Lito" and "Essential Journal".

DEVELOP

Secondly, we will help you develop your skills by offering masterclass' in many different subjects, either helping you develop new skills and fill out your CV or by honing in on one subject and mastering that art.

We will also encourage you to get involved in our weekly events hosted in the city centre called "The Under 27 and Above Club Presents". Each week will be different, one week Stand-Up Comedy, the next "Stars in their Eyes Night", giving all artists an opportunity to showcase their work. We feel that it is vital for an artist to constantly be busy performing, as it is the best way to learn. When starting out in theatre, the club's founder "Alex Medlicott" remembers being told by an esteemed member of the theatre community "Robert Farquhar", the writer of "God's Official" and director of "Big Wow Theatre"  - "Just book a space, a theatre, wherever. Write something and just put it on. That really is the best and only way to learn."

If that is not enough and you are interested in involving yourself in theatre, the club has also decided to produce at least 6 shows a year in major Liverpool theatres. These shows will be directed by in-house club directors but developed by members of the club. We will be looking for members of the club interested in acting, writing, music, tech, management, producing and much more.

ENJOY

Finally, by following these steps and with our help you will enjoy your work. Don't get stuck in something you're frightened to get out of! Give it a go. If it doesn't work out, then at least you gave it the best you could. It is our job to relieve you of the worry of getting work, let us help.
